I'm wondering where this stick with tribal looking top can be from and what it would have been used for. The stick is 88 cm. The stick is from wood, the point at the bottom from a lighter wood and the top seems to be from bone.
Could this be indonesian? Altough it somehow also reminds be a bit of egyptian artifacts. The strang folded arms hold another small head or scull.
Is this a tribal stick or a tribal(like) carving on top of a stick for a colonial european?
88 cm seems to small to be a walking stick, so what else could it have been meant for?
Lots of questions, i hope you can help me :)

Yes, it could. The top looks like the top of a mandau, a Dayak sword from Borneo.
    The latter, I think.

I was looking for some mandau hilts similar to the top of your stick. Of course I haven't found the same style yet, but I thought I'd share this one with you.
It is the most spectacular and beautiful mandau hilt I have ever seen:

Note the Dutch or Dutch East Indies guilder at the bottom.;)
There is background info on the site it came from:

Thnx AJ, beautiful example of mandau hilt! Have seen quite a lot of them, and even bought one (complete mandau) two weeks ago. The shape is somewhat similar, however stylisticly the carving on this stick really does not remind me of any carving i have seen on mandau hilts.

Would make sense if bottom tip is bone too. Could be, just looks more like wood to me. More dull anyway.
Sizewise a pointer stick could work i guess.

Deer bone.:) Similar to the two on the left, except a different species:

Deer have an important spiritual meaning throughout Indonesia. And many other countries.

Maybe, I don't know how to tell the difference. The brownish colour made me think bone, and the top of the head is a little porous? 4516.jpg
