Featured N.E. From Danish brooch

I found this lovely sterling Danish brooch marked N.E. From.
It was all of fifty cents in a thrift store. I wasn't familiar with the maker, but I have since done some research, and I am pretty happy that the maker is well regarded. Yay!

Apparently they used several different marks over many years of production.

"N.E.FROM JEWELLERY SIGNATURE MARKS
Although From opened his first shop in 1931 and sold some of his work there, the N.E. From mark did not appear until 1944 when it was first registered in the city of Nakskov in southern Denmark. Throughout its history, the company used a number of different signatures.

Smaller items may simply be marked FROM. Others pieces have N.E.FROM, STERLING, DENMARK, 925S within a square, and finally, many items feature the N.E. From signature in an italic script."

 

Interesting find, stracci! I was assuming that the 2 different sets of dates implied father and son or some other familial relationship!

 

It was in the bottom of a basket containing assorted bits and pieces of bad costume jewelry.
I had to dig for it!

 

I'd say you scored. When I dig all I get is dirty fingers.
