Nice ring, Rehmsj, and good pictures of the marks.
A classic design, which also makes it difficult to date.
M is not a hallmark, probably a maker's mark. There must be a million goldsmiths with initial M in the world, give or take.;)

Welcome, Rehsmj. Think another member, @Debora , will be able to say more about age based on method of manufacture, but looks to me like it could have been made any time from the 1950s on. Any of the guys reading this, when did these go out of fashion? Seems like there was a time when they were standard men's fashion, not anymore.

Even if you figure out who the maker M is, not likely to add any value. On eBay, if price allowed for any profit, it would attract more interest for melt down value than for wear or resale.

Isnt that carnelian ? Any said it all really. I think it was the 90s when men started not wearing as much jewelry,at least American men. I know my male Cuban relatives still like a ton of it ! Theres not much of a market for mens rings except for gold value, wich is sad because theres some great ones out there.

Just want to comment on how clever to use a paper clip as a stand. Haven't seen that before, but it works well.

Welcome! I like the paperclip idea too ... and the ring. It probably does date from the 1950s, best guess. It was made so someone could engrave the carnelian piece on top, only lucky for you no one did.

The ring type is still sold today without a carved top with carnelian or black onyx. The vast majority sold were never intended to be carved.

Lol I made that name and my confirmation never went through. I signed up as Huntingtreasure and that went through ok. After a few months, the first one canceled me out.
