Anyone know what these large glass “knobs” / “furniture pulls” are made for?

thanks crystal. they are flat. turns out they are meant to be curtain tie backs. there is certainly no reason you couldn’t use them as drawer pulls though. assuming they wouldn’t get in the way of the drawer opening and closing and the users were gentle.

Did you get the metal hardware with them by any chance? If not I am sure they would sell on their own merits.

They are likely too big for my suggestion & I had seen these before but that thought of course did not enter the brain.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Luckily @DragonflyWink & @TallCakes were here to set it straight.:happy::happy:

I didn’t get the hardware unfortunately. I was just in a big home a few times recently with fancy tie backs and I immediately thought of those when I saw these. I had never seen glass ones though and obviously forgot all about that too.

I did however get a couple with the long glass backer like in the photo below.

looking at eBay I guess they do sell ok but not like hot cakes.

I’ve been wondering about that since I got the first replies. I’ll say that there was a bunch of repop type stuff in the estate. Then again there was a little bit of genuinely old stuff too. Something about the way they feel and look up close doesn’t scream 19th c to me but I don’t know glass very well. I’ve gotta find where I put the rest of this lot. I think there was a couple amber glass ones and maybe some others. I guess that could bode well for being antique or at least “early repro” since according to one source most of the new repros are uranium green. Based on the estate I’m going to lean to repro for now but hopefully someone can prove me wrong.

With 40 plus years of looking at antique glass, including curtain tie-backs, I've never seen the solid glass post on the back. I'll bet they are new, not reproductions, just recently made.
