Featured This wants to be jade but I was told it' s Egyptian

    Bought in Egypt I can believe, but the stone looks like it wants to be Siberian spinach jade. Doesn't feel like it though, and scratched too easily. What stone is it, and where did it really come from? The inside seems machine-turned.

    The shape does look like the stone vases that come out of Egypt.
    I agree. Those white scratches mean it isn't jade. Soapstone can have white scratches. It is probably one of the local Egyptian variants.
    Nice vase, but not jade.
