New wharf Pottery pot & frog, bad staining help.

    I have this Cute little 5" vase with original frog insert. The impressed mark dates it to 1886 I was hoping there was a way to remove the staining without hurting the transfer?

    Soak in an Oxyclean bath - a little stronger than for clothes. May take several days and baths. Then do a clear water soak. Aging will eventually come back but milder.

    I think it's a butter dish. The thing with holes is the ice insert. The use as a butter dish accounts for the dark staining.

    It would make a lovely little planter. I have something similar and have repurposed it as a planter. Now I’m wondering if it was a butter dish!
