Thanks, @Bronwen and @Marie Forjan . I agree it helps date them, although the ones I have are clearly Art Nouveau and Art Deco.
I have one with photos of people I don't know. I always feel like I am infringing on their privacy.

 

Among my mother's things was a small collection of vintage photographs that I brought home with me. The sepia tone photos seem 'quaint', until you realize they were some family's snapshots, as meaningful to them as the ones in your own family album. Well, not so far in the future, if they don't just get trashed, the black & white photos of me as a toddler & all the rest of the album will be equally quaint for someone, as there is no one to leave them to.
