What Are Those Beads

What’s the material here?

 

Assuming the beads are stone and not plastic, I think maybe they're banded agate.

I call it RPR - random pretty rock.

 

Looks like shell to me, particularly the slightly lumpy beads. Possibly queen conch shell:

Shell will show the same striations because of their growth rings.

I thought shell when I saw them, but JMHO

 

Shell's a real possibility, too. If they feel pretty heavy, I'd think stone and if somewhat lighter, I'd think shell.

 

Helmet shell, I think, but do the tooth test. Shell will also feel relatively gritty compared to polished stone or glass.

Most of them, the more regular barrel shaped beads, look like helmet shell; a bit puzzled by ones that look like this:



Do all the ones that are irregular in shape/size have that double indentation?
