2nd Update: The front of the Chalet Dollhouse is done! The tricky part was fashioning the balcony and the front door. Need 2 more tiny screws for the door made from floor scraps, craft sticks, pearl earing button doorknob all with my limited tools while trying to keep the cottage type feel. My neighbor is already picking out where he thinks the Christmas wreath and tree should go! :joyful: His brothers can't believe he is getting all involved in the dollhouse and wanted photo proof! It's been such fun! I just finished the 2nd coat of paint to the interior rooms and will work on the carpets and decor. Posting current photos... IMG-5192.jpg IMG-5193.JPG

Thank you so much! My friend and I have had so much fun. Just finished gluing tiny little flower buds to the flower boxes in front. Was a bit hard doing the flower painting on the shutters since I couldn't tip it forward much or lay on its end because of the balcony.

Slykitty, if you don't stop posting your photos of this super cute dollhouse, I may just have to pull my daughter's old one out of the attic and start working on it!

My best friend gave it to her when she was little (he never had any daughters!) and she & I filled it and "played" with it for ages, before she decided to put it away...

It's a very large Victorian with lots of gingerbread on the outside. My friend paid to have it put together and painted, so it was rather "finished" from the start. My daughter and I never did any "real decorating" on the inside - just furniture & general things like that. (I particularly remember finding all the porcelain bath fixtures for it! We also made tiny dining room plates & food out of Sculpey...)

I am SOOOOO tempted right now to start painting, papering, re-doing the floors, making curtains - all the FUN stuff - but it's not MY dollhouse, and if she ever has kids of her own, she might want to work on it with them. (Sigh.)

Still, if that day ever comes, maybe she'll let me help!

Oh yes! I have been down that road with my grandchildren passing my first one made to them, then my godchild and back to the next grandchild. Now they all have dollhouses... here I am with another one! lol Such fun!
