    Rene, I must say, my focus is not on Balinese painting. I know a bit about it, but not much.
    My interest in Balinese Art Deco carvings started because it brought together two things that I like, Asian religious statues and the Art Deco style. A maker does not have to belong to a certain school as far as I am concerned. If it is beautiful, it is fine by me. I do of course recognize the quality of true Pita Maha art.

    When it comes to Indonesian art in general, I love Madurese carvings, with their beautiful minute detail, and antique silver from any part of Indonesia.
