Imperial furniture Grand Rapids Mi

I have this hand carved secretary cabinet with a manufacturers emblem of Imperial Furniture of Grand Rapids Mi. Does anyone have any input on this piece I’ve
Read they mostly made their products of Mahogany but this seems to be of Walnut.the emblem indicates it’s from the 1939 era

Imperial made good quality furniture but not the highest end. Your cabinet is in a historical revival style that blends elements from various styles. Often called depression era furniture. I would have thought it a bit earlier than the 1939 date but Imperial was not a trend setter as far as style goes. Your pictures look as if this has been spray painted gold. I assume this is just an artifact of the photo lighting? Otherwise, does look like walnut inside.

 

Similar to this "Cabinet Desk" from a 1928 Imperial catalog. FWIW, I looked at a few of their 1930's catalogs and did not see any cabinets like these.
