I got this album last weekend (yes - at the same place as the viola/cello bows, the Danish silver, and the Russian cloisonne).
It is sealed. My question - is this one of the first US pressings of the album in 1967?

There are many resources for this album online and I've spent hours on many of them. I'm still confused and hesitant to list it unless I know what I'm talking about. Of course, I'm not going to open it to check things like the color of the record label, the sleeve, etc.

It has smas-2653 on the top right of the back cover, and 2653 on the spine.

If the sticker with 9 89 on it is the original price (in USD) tag, that would be about right for 2 stereo records at the time this one came out.

I normally play dumb on this type of thing. The people who know what they're looking for would sniff this out in a second. Auctions [for Beatles memorabilia] typically seek their own level since there is such a large collector's market.

Maybe just add a question mark at the end. From a listing that *looks* like yours that sold for $1K on eBay: "The Beatles/Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Sealed U.S. 1967 Original Pres?"

Like most, I never want to leave money on the table, but most of what I buy, I spend pennies on the dollar. So, I normally just throw stuff out for a low starting auction and hope for the best. Your mileage may vary.

    Good luck.

Sorry. Wasn't thinking carefully. It's the gate fold cover throwing me off. When the Beatles first hit America, think albums in mono were 2.98, stereo a dollar more. Still think if that's the price, it's an earlier issue, although possibly not the original.

when I was still colecting and reselling - taste changes - the Goldmine Priceguide was a good lead to give you a first idea. perhaps available in a public library near you ?

Neat, in looking at Figtree link, it's worth $1250. isn't it? Quite a score i'd say.

    Hi,
I have an old one sided record not vinyl that says test Joan Crawford singing Aida. I always thought it was a fake, now I am not so sure. Has anyone heard of this?

Joan didn't sing as far as I know. She DID however use products by someone named Aida Grey, who made skin care stuff. Maybe that's the connection? A skin care commercial?
