What do you call this?

    It can also mean the piece had a paper label that fell off at some point. Lots of Japanese pieces made in the 50s-80s had paper labels. They don't look all that old even with the labels gone, but once it happens there's no country name. You didn't need the country name if it wasn't being exported.
