Information on glass bottle

Hi there, looking for any info on this large Chianti wine bottle. I'm not able to find another one like it online. What would the age be? It's 20" tall and the top is crackled. Do you recommend leaving the torn labels on to sell or should it be cleaned up?

 

Leave it be. The bottle was probably made in Empoli and it looks 50s or 60s.

Thank you both, I thought that would be best to leave them on also, but it would look so much better in photos to have them off.

 

soak the labels off, roll en up, and toss them in the bottle.....
at least then you still know what's what.....

I have another question about this piece. Do you think the bottle was sold with that stopper or was that added later to it?

It's missing its U.S. importer/distributor's label (something that's always useful in dating.)

Italian bottler also had this novelty bottle on offer. Typically, the fancier the bottle, the lower the quality of the wine. And note that marketed by bottler and not winery. Another red flag.

We have friends that patented a figural bottle. It's fun to look at but the wine is pretty cheap.

 

And yes, leave the label on if you are selling. Otherwise it's just another bottle.
