I have an Imperial table that I'm guessing is from the 1939s based on the imperial shield. There are numbers on the bottom 55 1489. It is a gate leg drop leaf table with rectangle sides. I'm trying to post a picture but I can't get the file small enough.

    Pics are at below link.

Are you on a cell phone? If so, email to yourself size Medium, save resized photos from email, and upload those. Choose Full size for all images.

What are you asking about it? Are you stripping this? Imperial made good furniture but condition is everything. Obviously, someone has shabbied this up so it has lost any potential value as collectible furniture. The good news is that it is probably more sellable in this state and people like those self-storing butterfly leaves. I would probably re-paint the top and enjoy it as is. You will never be able to get it back to original state.

I love this table but I planned to sell it and when I started to tighten it up is when I noticed the age of the table. I wanted to see if there was a reason for me to keep it for myself but I'd want it in the original state. If you don't think I can restore the original wood I'll just sell it as Shabby.

    Thanks
