Featured Perpignan garnets antique ring.

I posted not long ago a brooch found by my grand-father in the attic of a house he bought in France. There was also this ring with the brooch. Really love the Fleurs de Lys on the side. I know it needs a good clean. I haven't wear it since I got it and has been in an individual box since. Probably same period as the brooch.

 

It is beautiful, Byzance, and pretty rare.
Perpignan garnets have that special 'light', if I remember correctly many are foil backed. I can't see if your main stone is, but the smaller ones could be.

I think it could be a few decades older. Are those marks on the band?

What a beauty! Be careful cleaning it, I know foil backed rhinestones can be damaged by getting wet, it corrodes the foil backing over time. Best to talk to an antique jewelry expert before doing anything

 

Thank you for comments. It is darker than the other ring posted in photos but yes similar style. The back of the main stone has like a fine metal backing and the stone attached to the main ring with link rings same at this other ring. Thank you for finding it.
