Bronze Indian/Hindu figure-Flute playing Deity?

Hello

I have bought this solid bronze figurine, hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Has a nice patina.

It is Lord Krishna, and yes, he is both Hindu and Indian.
Indian bronzes are usually not the same alloy as ours, but more like cast brass.

Looks like the patina has been applied, but looking at the bottom, it does have age. I couldn't tell you how old he is, exactly.
Maybe our new member @the blacksmith can take a look at the age of the metal?

 

I was told by a collector of bronze sculptures years ago that always look at the hands and feet of a sculpture since those were the toughest to make. You can tell the difference between a pro and good quality that way

 

That is true for fine art sculpture, painting too for that matter. It is one of the first things my mother, an artist, taught me. It doesn't apply to folk art though, whether Asian or otherwise. Folk art has a naive quality that should be judged on its own merit, imo.
