    I live in Michigan and have come across Imperial furniture fairly often. It was nice middle-of-the-road stuff. IMHO, your coffee table is likely from the late 1940s/early 1950s. On a good day, I might get $50 for it, it might be different in other parts of the country. People into French Country or Cottage Chic may pay a little more if it's just the right size they're looking for.

    Interestingly, THIS website states that Imperial's founder, F. Stuart Foote, claims to have invented the "coffee table" when he lowered the legs on a table in his home while helping his wife prepare for a party. (The website also states that Imperial was in business from 1903-1954 but shows Imperial labels through 1962.)
