Featured 2 BEAUTIFUL PAINTINGS FOUND YESTERDAY - ARE THEY ABSTRACT OR SURREAL?

I found these at a local thrift store yesterday & I love them! Even though they have a lot of pink in them I think that just makes them more unusual.
Are these abstract or surreal? I would say surreal but before listing them I wanted to be sure!
Can anyone make out the artist's last name? I tried Angela Ptali & Angela P Tali - but nada.

There is a village called Prali in northern Italy, near the border with France, that could be the origin of the name.

 

Neither. Abstract is when you can't recognize anything. If you can't make out a form resembling an existing object, person, etc.
Surreal is dreamlike, like regular people in strange landscapes. Or regular landscapes with things that shouldn't be there, but the scene would seem normal in dreams.

This is Modernist with a clear Cubist (think Picasso) influence.

 

I think the first one is influenced by both Synthetic Cubism and Surrealism. The second one more typical study of Synthetic Cubism.

@journeymagazine Since you buy a lot of art, there is a little book I think might interest you -- Isms: Understanding Art by Stephen Little. Brand new, it's under $20 on Amazon.

It gives a super brief explanation of each "ism", but also gives you the names of artists/works to look up if you want more info on a particular "ism."
