Need help w. a couple silver pieces

Hello everyone,

Was wondering if you could help me ID the possible stone (if it is a real stone?) in a piece I have, as well as the mark on the back (Lower case r ster ling)

The 2nd piece is a hallmarked little silver? pouch that has two markings, however I'm having an impossible time trying to pick them up with the camera. One of the marks looks to have a W at the bottom of the oval.

Any help would be appreciated!

 

When I saw your pin, I thought, oh Avon Representatives gift. But I've never seen one in silver.

Did a quick and not thorough search. Came up with this and it states made in various metals by the Robbins company. You'll have to verify the info.

The stone is colored glass

 

The purse looks like a gate top / flapper era. Can't see your marks, but maybe compare with Whiting -- they were a big manufacturer at the time. That might fit with the W you see.
