    Hi Antiquers,
I would appreciate help identifying the marks on this bracelet.
Two letters S stamped horizontally, above a half moon shape?
Viewed vertically--Two letters S (SSD) next to letter D?
I believe the black material is Onyx.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Length: 8 inches. Weight: 38 grams.
    Thanks and Have a Fantabulous day. DSC_2385.JPG DSC_2368 (2).JPG

Jivvy the research is my favorite

You might wish to post a pic of the entire piece -- understanding the style of the entire thing is sometimes critical to identification.

And, by themselves, closeups can be misleading. You say "onyx," but I "see" enamel. Entirely possible that's a trick of light that would disappear with an image of the full piece.

    Hi Jivvy,
Thank you. I tried to upload a photo of the entire piece but, as usual, those files are TOO large. I will try to crop and list one. Any idea of the maker?

Thank you, Jivvy. I tried to list a photo of the entire piece but the files are too large. I will have to crop and list a current photo or take a new one. Any idea of the maker?

Those look like antique glass buttons.

Looks like simulated marcasite, the "silver" color is wearing off and scratched.

It should be noted that glass buttons are being reproduced.

So don't know for a fact that they are indeed original antique buttons.
