Featured I need to identify this antique doll.

Hi, everyone. I'm so glad to have found this site.


I picked up an antique doll today; I wondered if anyone knows the maker's mark on the back. Thank you for your help.

 

I no nothing about dolls, but it looks similar to Hertwig in style and construction.

That mark is what, a divine encounter?

This is what happens when amateurs chime in.

Perhaps it's a U over a W.

 

I poured over a good portion of that site, too.
That's all for my untrained eye.

Thank you to everybody who reply, the doll is 6 inches tall. Someone say could be a Japanese doll.

Call me impressed with finding that! I had used the model # but did not know the size at the time....found nothing searching the number, bisque doll, doll house doll. However, at 6" I'm unsure if she is still considered doll house size.

Too bad there was no ID. Maybe @Kronos could offer the price realized.

In the last doll link, the doll doesn't look old, but it could just be the picture.

I would say that the OP's looks to be from the 20's/30's.

 

You guys are the best, thank you for your time and for your help. The woman that sold the doll, said it belongs to her grandma. I agree with Judy from '20s or 30s
