Ceramic “Knight’s armor” - please help

Hi, I came across this nice ceramic item recently and would appreciate any details on it. It looks like some pieces are missing, or what are those wholes for? Any ideas on how this would fit on a wall as there is no signs of any fastening.
There is a mark “c.& st. 1933” could it be Gerbing and Stephan?
Any information would be highly appreciated.

Your mark is "G.&ST." not C. The 1933 might be a pattern number as they were gone by then.

 

Is this a book end?

 

I would think it was a decorative wall bracket but it has no hanging mechanism.

I think you have the maker right on your rather nicely detailed what looks like, I think, a terracotta piece. Here is some information on the maker and mark. You say you think it's too large for a bookend so about how big is it?
