Maybe something decorative or for a fermented liquid with a cork in it.

say_it_slowly The worst prison is a closed heart

It appears to have a marked base, would it be possible to see it? It also sadly looks like there is some damage.

I tried to clean the bottom. I think it looks good now. Please take a look again. Thanks a lot.

Maybe call it a pitcher/jug/vase. I think this type of piece was primarily decorative, not utilitarian, so there's a lot of latitude in what to call it.

The INH link nails it as Walter Gerhards. Search Walter Gerhards 210 55 and you will see other examples of the shape... there's a lot of variation in the finish. One example online said 1968.

With this type of numbering, the first part is frequently the shape, and the second part is the nominal height in centimeters.

Here's some info on the company:
    https://www.potsandpots.com/wgp-companies/walter-gerhards/

Info from that same site says that the pieces can be difficult to attribute because some pieces are marked and others are not, and some have labels and others don't, and some of the labels can be misleading.

Is this piece damaged? Is there a repair at the mouth?
