Purchased a lot at auction in the U.K. and these items were in it, listed as pottery money boxes. When I phoned the auction house to pay, a chap had left his details saying he wanted to buy them from me. I am intrigued. Their is something similar on eBay, is it slip ware. Help much appreciated. This is the only picture I have until I collect them tomorrow. Thank you all.

    Nice! :)

I wonder if the hen and chicks are agate ware? Not something I know much about. I’m sure when you get them we will all learn more.

    Maybe @Ownedbybear knows about these?

They look like chocolate rendered in pottery. Very weird.

I’m not surprised someone wants to buy them from you.

Love these!! So do you have to break the pottery to get the money out?

I wouldn't let them go ANYWHERE until you know MUCH more about them!!!!! Have you tried sending the image to CROCKERFARM pottery? Just to see if they have any input on them?? Might just be worth your while!!!:happy: They're pretty much the "gold standard" when it comes to knowing about pottery!!

A bit older than I normally go for, but Sussex clay certainly. There's a very strong slipware tradition there.
