My son recently purchased a home in a foreclosure and it had several pieces that we have been trying to determine the value of, have sent photos to different dealers for help and only get back how much do you want for all of it with no indication of value.
Not looking to get top dollar but also do not want to get taken advantage of.

    Thanks....Jim

It's understandable that most dealers aren't going to work as appraisers for you for free. That said, there are plenty of people on here that wouldn't mind helping you with an item or two as long as you post detailed pictures and descriptions of what you have.

    Welcome.

Greetings, Jim! We don't really do valuations here, but we do help people understand what they have and how to find prices for which similar items have actually sold every day. As Kronos has suggested, pictures, dimensions and information about condition, will get you started.

    Thank you.

This mantle is 61.5" w X 56"h, the decorative pieces could possibly be ivory, and is in fair condition.

I am willing to pay for an appraisal but have been unable to locate someone in my area to come out to the house.

Depending on how much you have, you might want to just find an auctioneer to come out and give you an opinion. The Furniture board would be a good start with those two mantels.

Welcome Jim. The timber on the downstairs mantle is just beautiful, warm, golden and looks in great condition. Best of luck.
