    Good Day

I will post two photos of a brandy balloon that a friend has recently bought. One shows the glass, the other shows the mark etched on the base which is a crown above two letters. It may be that the mark should be viewed from the front of the glass in which case the letters should be reversed. The mark looks vaguely familiar yet I cannot find any trace of it on the www. Can anyone assist to identify it?

(I am not really in a position to get more photos - it is me who is interested in indentifying the mark because I am interested in vintage glassware. My friend bought the glass to use and I don't think she is particularly interested in who made it.)

Oh bother. It's British and my brain has GONE. (Edinburgh?)

Edinburgh was my first thought too, but I can't find any indication on the www that they used this mark.

The crown emblem was used between 1699 to 2007 was used on beer glasses to indicate it could hold a full pint only to be replaced by the EU-wide CE mark in 2007.

Currently there is an online petition for it to reappear, in the hope it would create a burst of enthusiasm for Brexit. Hip hip hooray; hip hip hooray.

Interesting, but how does this fit in with the OP's question?

Only to the point that I don't believe the crown relates to Britain, especially not on a brandy goblet.

There's several British makers used crowns.
