Grab it when you see it! I did get lucky today. A jacket I'd seen in a thrift was still there today when their out of business sale knocked the price down to a dollar. A friend is going to end up with it.

Grab it if cheap, can be a learning tool.

But good to educate yourself about costume jewelry. Warning #1: There is a LOT of rhinestone jewelry that isn't worth much at all. Some low end rhinestone pieces have kind of a cool look, but minimal value nowadays, and on top of that, China is making lots of new pieces that look old to confuse things further.

Train your eye to see quality. Also items that have maker's marks on the back are always of interest, but doesn't guarantee value.

Almost everyone knows what is what with rhinestone jewelry, so getting any kind of deal at a thrift store or sale with other dealers will be near impossible without a lot of knowledge beforehand.

Warning#2: The collecting of antique/vintage jewelry can be addictive! :D
