I do. These are rustic and made from so-called plantation mahogany or sometimes billed as teak. Construction techniques are old world traditional but sloppily made. The wood often shrinks, cracks, and warps, adding to their vintage look. Hardware is rusty iron. They were offered in both a natural finish and with paint. A cabinet like this retailed for about $60.00 when new..... at least that is what I sold them for.

Was able to find a picture of your cabinet (left center) from an Indonesian furniture warehouse dealer. Different finish than yours but pretty much the same cabinet. This is the company I used to buy from. A lot of their product has changed and they now have their own retail stores. You would think a lot of what they offer to be antique but it is not.

Yup! I suspect the seller just thought it was a polished pebble. I'm a bit pleased - and keeping it, too.

Blue John - a stone that's mined out in the UK. They're still finding a few bits here and there, and it sells for a fair chunk these days.

It's wonderful stuff. I would love to find one of the bowls or a large carved piece. But the pendant will do nicely. It's a bit like, oh, Whitby Jet or Connemara marble - very location specific and uncommon.

Ownedbybear, your reference to Connemara marble brought back wonderful memories of visiting Carl Sandburg's home. He named his home (and land) "Connemara" up in the NC mountains (Flat Rock, NC). ;)
