odd little clay statues anyone seen these before?

    Hi,

    I found these at a yard sale this weekend, they look old and worn probably about 6" in height each but no marking look hand painted, its hard to tell if they are really old or just left in someones garden for a long time :) .. if anyone has seen these or have any information it would be appreciated, (looks asian, maybe Japanese?)
