The original bandage was removed on Friday. We have been applying new ones at night after the last potty run & taking it off in the morning.

DH just back from the vets office & she is pleased with how the incision looks. She told him to just keep doing what we have been doing.

Now we just have to wait for the pathology, not that we will be doing anything about it if it comes back bad. We just can't bring ourselves to do anything to this poor little guy to make him suffer in any way.

 

Had some sweet flea market finds this week. This one is a Majolica Palissy from the French School of Arts. This is one of the smaller wall plates but I am not complaining a bit.

 

This one is a Chinese soapstone carving of the 8 immortals. At 12" long it is a large/heavy piece. A solid 10lbs. Carved nicely. Was very happy to get this.

 

This happy fisherman made me happy when I found him earlier this week. He is 12" tall and made of very nice dark green soapstone. Carved very nicely.

 

This one was at a little shop full of nothing but smalls. The place was so packed that I had a hard time slowing my eyes down to focus on the items on the shelves.
A nice light color with a bit of grey soapstone rooster and Lotus flowers(I think they are Lotus). Still needs cleaned up a bit. Has a few nicks here and there on the flower pedals.

 

I think the flowers are peonies, Kevin.

 

This one may be my favorite find of the week. I think this one is Qing Dynasty. It has some damage/old chips to the base and the dorsal fin, but feels quite old to me. A beautiful soapstone carp and baby carp. The colors are amazing.

 

I am pretty bad at I.D. on flowers. I am only good for planting and watering them.

 

Kevin, forget the flowers - I just like the rooster!

Chromolithograph of betrothal of Frederick 111 after fresco by Pinturicchio. Published by Arundel Society in 1895. 32x24 inches. This would have taken some time to do, all the colours were produced by using different litho stones. Colours look good to me but I don’t know what the original looks like. £8 from carboot today.

That was one of those items on a table that just draws a person (me) straight out of a crowd and over to it. My wife asked why I would even bother to pick it up. Different strokes I suppose. These were done in a art school by 4 or 5 artists in the 1860's to 1880's. They were done in a form that imitated a style from the 1550's by artist Bernard Palissy.

It is soft like soapstone. It has a transparency to it though ,so maybe it would be serpentine. Definitely too soft to be jade , but has the appearance of high end spinach nephrite jade.

Serpentine is a good possibility.

 

The cabinet came out of a house built in the 1800's. It is old, just not sure how old... but I loved it! The other is a steampunk style watch display. Thought it was neat!

Hate to break this to you but this is a modern Indonesian import. Sold virtually identical in the 90s in my furniture store. The aging is done with a blow torch. These often get misrepresented as old and many are none the wiser, paying very good money in some cases.

 

The way the paint is peeling, it looks like latex.

My find for the day was a Star Trek reference book printed for hard core fans. It's NextGen stuff, but for a buck ... pfft. A friend's getting it as a birthday gift.

 

I wouldn't be heartbroken. I still love it. It smells and its not in the best condition. I know it has been painted because there is paint on the inside shelf.Here are a few more pics. Let me know if you still think it's from the 90's... I'm just curious.Thanks!
