Hi. Looking for advice

Hi, my name is Marisa. I have a bedroom set my grandmother gave me. She purchased it in the 80’s. We did not have money but they won some in the lottery and bought new furniture. The set is Lane. It was purchased at a store called Gilbert’s. I have photos of the serial numbers, lane stamp and the furniture. I can’t upload the pics (says they are too large). It is off white and brass. I am guessing it was made in the late 70’s.

I think I got it to work.

 

It did. There is a way to use the serial number to know when the piece was built, but I don't remember how. Someone else will be along who knows.

 

Backwards they say but it doesn’t make sense to me.

 

It does seem odd but it does work. What numbers do you see there. I'm having trouble seeing them all.

I have no idea. The numbers are different. The serial number may be 85?

So, the question is do I list this on marketplace or pay the trash company $120 to take it away?

 

Surprisingly, this style with the cream lacquer and gold is becoming popular again. My 19 year old daughter is a fan and would buy them. I'd post the whole set for $500 on Facebook and Craigslist and be prepared to take lower offers.

 

This one is showing as sold for $750 on Chairish. So maybe start the whole set for $1000?
