This is part of a large amount of cool art & collectibles I found at a 'pop up' estate sale (it was held at a closed bathing suit store of one of the seller's mom!).
I saw this painting on board (the skeleton's arms & legs look like wood attached to the board, but are actually carved into the wood and not painted like areas around them!) & thought it was as cool as cool can be! But I had spent most of what I'd brought with me so the seller agreed to let me auction this piece & we would split the final price.
He thought the name of the artist is Reyes & I think it might be too. But I couldn't find anything on him/her.
Anyone have an idea who the artist is? And/or if they are a known artist?
Any help would be appreciated - the seller has a lot more cool/unusual pieces I'd love to sell for him!
    Thanks!

    C. Ruys? C. Rups?
Both sound Dutch. There was a Dutch actor called Cor Ruys, but he died in 1952 and never painted.
Reyes sounds more like it, given the subject and location.

I'm about 90% in the "some guy" camp on this one.
