Carved wood nude torso - art or mass produced? What kind of wood?

I found this at a local thrift store. It came out on a cart & I grabbed it before it could be put on a shelf!
It's a beautifully carved wood nude torso with a beautiful grain - but is it art or mass produced? (I don't see a signature which made me a little concerned)
What kind of wood is it?
    Thank you for any information!

    It's just a hair under 13" tall x 6.5" wide.
The peace sign is something else I found at a thrift store; it's some kind of light weight body that someone glued? pieces of paper all over it - I think it's called decoupage?

found this dead eBay link for a monkey pod torso; typical monkey pod look from Philippines c1960s-70s
"Vintage TIKI de mediados de diglo Monkey Pod Desnudo Torso Femenino Talla, phillipines Firmado | eBay"

Did it sell was for monkey pod wood
pottertplease- if you were referring to the peace sign as a interesting peace instead if piece - that was subtle genius & funny as heck!

That doesn't look like natural mark to me. Not that I can read it...

I'd think Philippines origin likely. And given her... ahem... proportions, I'd think newer than mid-century as the other piece is identified.

My goodness ! What a "Well fed" child she must have ! And yes, my guess is from the "Pearl of the Orient" too..... certainly much easier on the eye than the Ifugao headhunter from the other day !
