I did my searches and came up with nothing. Any ideas?

It says "Warranted General Washington Handmade"
It seems to be woven and embossed. It is 4.5" high and 8" long. Maybe the thickness of one, probably not two sheets of printer paper. And it has some weight to it, I'm thinking maybe silver?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ya know.. "Warranted" and "Handmade" are language associated with cigars. Size is about right for a cigar box too. Never heard of General Washington brand but...

I found "George Washington Cut Plug" in a tin pail, but no cigar (pun intended).

There are thousands of antique cigar brands. Possible but difficult to confirm.

I'm betting the silver bit came out of a cigar store. They had glass cases and the like for the good stuff, and if that's real silver the smokes must have been something good too. Or or at least good as cigars get. (they turn me green)

One of my double great-grandfathers had a cigar store. Someone else in the family got the indian, alas. I think all he sold were stogies.

You would think that a cigar fancy enough to have a "silver" label or logo would show up in the cigar databases online. I have checked at least a half dozen and nothing shows up for General Washington.

One would think so too. But I posted a spread comprised of antique silk cigar ribbons. An internet search brings up nothing for these brands either: The East, The Thimble, Uno, Pippins, Blackstone...

Is this attached to wood, or can you show the back of it?

It is not attached to anything. It was found in an large, old book from the 1880s (which doesn't prove it age) between the pages, I assume for protection. The back looks identical except the words are in reverse.
