I may have linked this guy before. I like to view his youtubes from time to time. This one is a small work shown through his point of view. An easy restoration as compared to others he's worked on.

is it wrong that i prefer how it was before though ?

like going from paradise lost to plain old paradise

given the subject matter on this particular painting underneath, i thinks its more interesting darker with that red

While I do not agree, I can see your point of view. I suppose if I were buying an object because it affected me, then why alter that perception. Like love, who's to say that's wrong.

Even though I was expecting a fiery sunset rather than a pastural scene, the painter's expression has been revealed. For me, the restoration has revived the artist love of his experience.

There's a lot of Baumgartner videos out there. I've been watching for a while and they are very entertaining. I recently watched one where he restores a reverse painting on glass. Yikes!

I wonder about the cost.
