Does anyone know who the artist Holberg is? I found these 2 paintings yesterday at a thrift store - and even though the one with the royal(?) little people isn't signed, isn't obviously by the same artist as 1st painting of a little girl playing dress up.
I googled Holberg artist & there are quite a few - but looking at their painting I didn't see anything like these.
What would I call these? Comedy? Portraits?
Also they were both done ona canvas with a dark back; what kind of canvas is this? (I've seen it before - usually on ...non expensive paintings!)
Speaking on non expensive paintings - the paint on the lower half of the 2 people has some cracks; is that from the painting being older? Cheap paint? Cheap canvas?
    Thank you.

The one on the right is probably a copy of a Botero painting. The inspiration is certainly the Arnolfini Wedding by van Eyck

Yes. As above. Interpreted by Botero.

You need this too. "Arnolfini Wedding" and "van Eyck." A seminal work in the history of Western painting.

Don't recognize other but you might want to do a Google Images search to see if it is an interpretation as well.
