Picked up this jewelry box in tennessee last week for $20. It has a mirror in the lid.
Is this an antique but more important how old is it?
Were these made in abundance long ago or is this something special?
My guess is not. It looks nice so I pulled the trigger and bought it.

I was wondering if it was an after market box made with nice pics.
    I like it.
Better than an old cigar box for the same $$$.

Often came with candy or dried fruits and given as gifts for Christmas. Lots of them out there. Have tried selling them without much luck. Have 3 or 4 bouncing around here now. Would be thrilled to get $20.00.

I, too, see these fairly frequently in local thrifts and pass them by. Nice useful box, but no significant value. IMHO, likely made within the last 30-50 years so "vintage" rather than "antique".

Been gathering cedar boxes since I was a kid - have quite a few old ads from various sources in my files, that one was found in Billboard...
