I won this cutie on eBay a couple of weeks back as the only bidder. I was fairly certain it was going to be a sterling cap although the seller made no indication of a mark & it was extremely tarnished. It cost me a whole $13.51 because I used my whopping $6.41 in eBay bucks. :p:D:D

The crystal is deeply cut & measures 2 5/8" top to bottom. It even retains its bitty stopper & is marked on both sides of the hinge.

That pocket perfume is a beauty!

The lucite giraffee was an absolute steal. He'll find a good home with someone who will love him and kiss him and call him George. (can you tell we're all old in here or what?)

    I haz car booted.

There was a lovely family at the first one, wish I'd taken photos. An ENTIRE table full of Neiger and other incredible stuff. Sadly, they knew what it was worth. ;) So because I'm kind, I suggested way better places to sell it than a rather low end car boot sale. Apparently, grandmama had collected it all. Family also casually mentioned that there was loads of Georg Jensen.

I was lusting. Loads of Egyptian Revival, Pekin Glass, you name it. And some wonderful lapis and coral earrings, possibly somewhere Afghan.

I should have given them my phone number.....or maybe not.

I was breathless, literally! But given they were aware they had value, I thought I might as well help a bit. I was drooling, I tell you, drooling.

I might have ignored the price tags a bit and bought something anyway.

Warner Brothers cartoon. It's gone into the lexicon rather.

I was half thinking of going to a none too promising estate sale this morning, but for a list of reasons watched the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral instead. Then I took a load of stuff to a charity thrift - clothes from another thrift's bag sale mostly, some with tags, and a pile of modern buttons. I took home a McCoy yelloware pitcher and a really pretty paperweight glass candle holder. Total price for the two? $3. The pitcher isn't signed but the art glass is. The pitcher is out in my trunk waiting to go elsewhere. It weighs a ton. The glass is below, signed AJ (and you can bet I thought... @Anyjewelry ..wazzat you? The other bits are from Friday. The cuff links are sterling cum-aparts, gold-fill and more or less mosaic, and vintage MMA King Tut enamel. The pin is Weiss. The earrings are marked Cubic Zirconia, new in box. The earring backs say gold-filled, but the earrings themselves are probably real. Haven't tested. For those from New England, look where they came from - Bradlees! The other two pair are garden variety sterling. DSCF5958.JPG DSCF5961letters.jpg DSCF5961.JPG DSCF5959.JPG
