I hope i've posted this in the right place.

We found this in with my grandfathers things and thought it was interesting .. dont suppose anyone is likely to know anything about it?

Googling for a chad society but it doesnt bring back anything and a variation of all the information contained on it. Looked at kilroy was here and mr chad related posts.

Didnt know it it has something to do with WW2 or something whimsical.

Would like to know more, I can remember my grandad teaching me to draw mr chads peeping over walls, but I was very young and can't remember what he said.

    Thanks

That's a Kilroy with a target on his eye. I'm betting this is a WWII veteran's piece of some sort, to be worn in place of the usual Ruptured Duck, aka honorable discharge pin. I'm not sure about the first word, but the rest is bastardized Latin for No Bull****.

I think it is a charity association from Greenford in Middlesex, raising funds for the impoverished country of Chad

    Thanks! Haha

Yes chad i think was the British adaptation of Kilroy.

The 1st word is what followed by the ?

So I think it translates as what no bull s***

The factory changed to Albion street, Birmingham in 1944.

I had wondered whether it was a charity or some kind of protest group for during or post war rations? Haha .. 1st time i've not been able to google something and its driving me potty

And Down Under, he may have been called "Foo" even earlier, back to WWI. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foo_was_here The origin of the whole Chad/Kilroy/Foo thing is rather uncertain. Chad often has + and - in his eyes, as seen in OP's item.
Rather than a target on his eye, this may be a reference to one possible rumored source for the image, a RLC band-pass filter circuit:

You might contact Ealing Council. I bet they've records in their archives. They'd probably love this for them, too.

    Hi.

Yes, I think I might do that. I've not long just posted on the Greenford community page on Facebook to see if anyone knows anything about it! I think I'll tap out a message to the council over the weekend. Thanks
