Actually, this is a fairly standard design. A pair at auction go for $150. Apparently, at one time, China was carving lots of large things in cherry amber.

Or synthetic anyway; a genuine hunk that big would sell for silly money on the open market.

This is my favorite pick today, a bronze double dachshund, about 8” in length for $4.99. And I bought myself a new saw, love that I barely have to pull the cord half way and it starts right up.

My sister in law bought a miniature recently. She actually flew to N.Y. To pick it up. Most annoying little thing I’ve ever met.
Can’t believe she paid hundreds for it plus a round trip flight!

Yes, they can be pretty annoying. And pretty much untrainable. :banghead::(;)

My aunt & uncle had a dachshund when I was a kid - she was a marvelous, smart girl.

I'm a cat person, but can deal with any old fur coat as long as it doesn't pee on the carpets. My cat says she infinitely prefers the bronze versions however.

A little news item from the UK:

Charities report bumper day of sales as locked-down shops reopen

"The British Heart Foundation and Salvation Army rang up their busiest day of sales ever on Monday as their charity shops opened for the first time in nearly four months after the coronavirus lockdown."

    https://www.theguardian.com/busines...mper-day-of-sales-as-locked-down-shops-reopen

Who could that possibly have been?

As book said, untrainable, sweet dog but pees as soon as she comes in the house after being outside.

A few times I’ve not even wanted to let an item out of my hand to be scanned in case they notice what they are about to let leave the shop for a song!. I feel guilty afterwards for a few seconds and then I recover:hilarious:

Yay, went school shoe shopping with the girls yesterday and accidentally fell into a few charity shops that conveniently just happened to be on our path:confused:
    First time since December!

This is an original, would love ideas as to the country depicted. I thought the hand was fairly talented. Again no ID yet.

Am I right in thinking green turquoise? Looks to have gold or copper bands through it. Any idea of the origin or meaning?

Nice piece of rutilated quartz, some internal damage but I like it.

Lovely gold locket in the 99p tray. Hallmarked E and a leopards head , think 1940 but in a round cartouche so not sure.

The rest! Earrings are silver backed, gold cross earrings, nice glass pendant drop, a rosary because they sell well and a modern costume dragonfly that’s heavy and feels good quality.

Golden goodies in a 99p tray?!?

[Shakes head in disbelief; meanwhile said head turns green with envy...]

Not as envious as the lady standing next to me who hadn’t spotted the dish of delights and had to stand, twitching with frustration and watch me sort through it all :hilarious:. I was generous enough to to hand her a piece of Connemara marble though.......
I think it slipped the net because it was very tricky to open and no marks on the outside.

But the "nose" don't need no steenkin' marks! The green bit in sterling looks like RDR - Random Dyed Rock. No idea on the ring, but it's a laser-cut stainless one. I think the larger image is upside-down.

I went to one of my usual sources today and bought zilch. Oh well - got a decent pile yesterday for $4 with tax. I'll have to get some pictures up.
