    Hello,

I need your help- please- with the material of this necklace. It is cold to touch and I've seen similar necklaces labeled as coral (which I don't think it is) or as shell (?).. I think it is glass.. What do you think ? Thank you ! :)

It is a beauty, Xristina. It looks like pink coral, which can be patterned like this, but there are glass copies out there. Some people call it angelskin coral, but that is more pale.
You could test it by putting a drop of lemon juice on one of the beads. If it starts to bubble, it is coral. If it doesn't it is either glass, or coated coral. It doesn't look coated though.
Do you have a photo of the clasp? Is it gold? If so, the beads are likely to be coral.

Thank you, I will try to test it with some lemon.. I attached a picture.. and sorry for not getting back to you sooner, I don't know if it's my email or not, but I don't get all the notifications, only some of them... :shame::shame:

    I vote coral on that.

The beads look like genuine coral. The clasp looks gold plated, with some wear.
That's OK, no hurry, I know you'll look in sooner or later.:)

My internet connection is like a traffic light at the moment, go - no go, so my replies are also very slow. It also has a 'maybe/sort off-ish' option.
Sometimes I just give up and do some repairs to jewellery. The blessings of the internet.:hilarious:

It could be coated coral. Do you have a gem tester?

I wondered that, I've had coral beads with a protective coating.

    :(
Many are glass, like yours, but always very pretty.:) I think pink 'coral' beads are the nicest coral replica type. And the most convincing, unfortunately.

The swirly coloration made me think it was glass, too.
