Pig Waiter Pitcher with hallmark help

I picked up a Pig Waiter Pitcher today at a Thrift store. It's in excellent shape, and I don't think it's a typical made in China piece of junk--but I could be wrong. But the colors and quality looked a little different, and it had a hallmark. I've looked and looked and could not find one exactly like it matching the hallmark on the internet and am hoping someone could help me. I'm adding some photos and would appreciate any help or insights.

 

I don't know the mark - but given the hat and apron - maybe a cook/chef as opposed to a waiter?

 

The mark resembles the format of a British Design Registration stamp - long obsolete and without the requisite entries in the various sectors, meaningless.

Definitely not a waiter - chef or baker much more likely. Does not look old to me. Cute, though!

He is cute, alright. Are you thinking the blue "thing" in his right arm is a bottle? I suppose the white square in his right hand is an order slip?

But I've never seen a waiter wearing a chef's toque. An awful lot of this kind of thing has been around in the last 30-40 years (80's - present) but 1960's seems too early (and yes I was there.)

 

No real signs of age,but its cute as can be. Id like to add that while China does indeed put out scads of cheaply made junk,they also put out some very lovely quality stuff too.

Yes, I saw the Majolica ones but the hallmarks didn't match--unfortunately. But I was thinking maybe this one was a fake Majolica as I did see a site that had a photo of one of those but it was pretty poorly done as compared to mine. But I've got some new names to look under now

I'm going to vote Chinese. It's rather like the old flowers the Japanese used to produce with no counterpart in real life. If he's kitchen or wait staff why is he sitting down? And a mark that implies it's an imitation of old English piece. It's a cutie!

I just noticed that every single one I've seen has a towel on one arm but mine doesn't. I don't think that matters too much but seems odd--

 

There are several in the second link above that are much more detailed versions of yours @jfg that have recognizable bottles (whereas yours looks more like a pale blue bagette. My vote is Chinese too.

 

PRICEY little ASKING price on eboo, HUH!!!!! And HI and WELCOME to Antiquers, @jfg !!!! Cute 'lil piggy at the very least, anyway!!! Also, the ones on eboo state "theirs" are French and have the bottle, a wine glass and the dishtowel......but I also thought the glazing was rather sloppy!!!
