It was my uncles who served in WW2 and was in with all the stuff he brought home with him. Any help in identifying where it is from or any info would be appreciated. The blade measures 6” and the entire dagger measures 11 3/4” with scabbard. Possibly copper or brass and very ornate. I know he served in Africa, Italy and I think he was in England also. It also appears to be double edged but isn’t very sharp. Also there is rust on the blade. Thank for any help!

It looks interesting, but the pictures are too small to be able to tell much.

Did you crop your pictures to get them under the 1 MB limit. Many new members have trouble uploading photos because they exceed the photo limit of 1MB. Here are some instructions on what to do.

They relate to how to upload from a phone:

Email your photo to yourself selecting size Medium. This will do the trick. Here are two threads about how to resize pictures based on your phone type, if you need more help.
Resizing Photos On I-Phone | Antiques Board (antiquers.com)
Using an Android Phone For Pics on Antiquers | Antiques Board

If you are using a computer: Then depending on what type of computer you have you can resize them. If you have windows 10, download them and then go to the bottom where the folder is; find the photo in downloads. Click on it and then right click it. You should see a resize option. Good luck. we're help to help you

On an iMac, @cheersdeers recommends drag pics to desktop, double click on them, click on Tools and then Adjust Size by as much as half.

When you post your pictures, please make sure you click on Insert as "Full Image" at the top of your pictures.

Ok thanks for the help on the pictures :). Hopefully these are better. Note the blue on the blade is just a reflection. 532A28B6-4872-49F0-8614-DF33F0B4D2BC.jpeg 203C8030-BB1D-40B3-83D8-DC5B809EF4FE.jpeg F7C05366-DE73-4EA3-9759-632944429BFF.jpeg 532A28B6-4872-49F0-8614-DF33F0B4D2BC.jpeg 532A28B6-4872-49F0-8614-DF33F0B4D2BC.jpeg 203C8030-BB1D-40B3-83D8-DC5B809EF4FE.jpeg F7C05366-DE73-4EA3-9759-632944429BFF.jpeg 532A28B6-4872-49F0-8614-DF33F0B4D2BC.jpeg 203C8030-BB1D-40B3-83D8-DC5B809EF4FE.jpeg F7C05366-DE73-4EA3-9759-632944429BFF.jpeg

Could this be a letter opener instead of a dagger?

LOL! I thought it might be since it wasn’t very sharp! Probably is Italian since he served in Italy. Any idea how much it is worth?

Not a gladiator. A suit of armor displayed as a military trophy.

Conquistador 1.JPG Conquistador 2.JPG Hi Marietta...I also own a similar dagger with almost the exact same handle...but the blade is 9 inches...The blade edges are dull which makes me think it is also a letter opener...In the research that I did, the image on the handle most resembles a Spanish Conquistador...

Thanks for the reply @komokwa ... Any idea on the age of something like this piece that I have or how I can estimate a value to sell?
