Please would anyone tell me anything about this one-quart pitcher? It is very heavy glass. I found it at a small antique shop in the French Quarter, a couple of years ago..

Yah, clear glass has been a real sleeper in the market. Probably a good starting point for a youngster's glass collection because it's inexpensive and durable.

Despite the verbal description of the first pitcher above - as being excellent vintage condition, there is a huge chip on the bottom of it. The second one appears to be in much better shape. There hasn't been a strong market for any clear glass items in all of the decades I've been collecting glass. :(

I just buy what I like.

I found an "IKEA" salt shaker at a garage sale years ago, liked the shape of its glass bottom and silver (plastic) top. Recently I found its match for 50c at Goodwill and bought it. I maybe spent a buck for the pair, but I wouldn't have been willing to spend more on clear glass. I just really like glass.
