What is this cabinet & how can I get it repaired?

This cabinet has been in the family for about 80 years, originally in Swansea, Wales.

We've always been curious about the age and country of origin, does anyone have any idea what it could be?

We've been told different things, rococo revival, French, etc...

Secondly, can anyone recommend a restorer who could repair/replace the missing carving from the left hand door? Happy to take the doors anywhere in the South East of England.

Would think a late 19th to early 20th century curio cabinet, though you may have another name for such things in the UK. Motifs are certainly French, though this may have been made elsewhere. There is something about it, though I can't quite pinpoint what it is, that says not French.

Hi and WELCOME, Rob, to Antiquers!!! I agree with Brad's time period, but I also thought it had a somewhat Chinese look to it!!! Love all the beautiful detail in it!!!!!:):):)

    Welcome to Antiquers, Rob.
I agree, French Rococo in style, possibly made somewhere other than France. Early 20th century, I think.

    So maybe it's a copy of a copy ;)

Have you seen anything with that amount of fanciness on the glass doors?

Did they make this kind of thing in N.Ireland?
There may be a connection with a Lord Molyneux ... house clearance etc...

Those carvings are applied, that is they are made separate and then applied to the piece. To find an exact match would be very difficult with stock carvings which means, custom moulding and very expensive.
