I am going to ask your honest opinions on a *Sevres style* urn and plinth. I was told by a man who runs a huge antique shop and warehouse, just yesterday, that this piece was not Sevres style and not old...It has a staple repair, executed to perfection, on one of the *feet* of the urn. The urn is 63" tall and the plinth is 24" tall. No, it is not signed nor marked Sevres, but am I wrong to say Sevres style ? I apologise for the quality of the photos, but I was here by myself and had no way to move this to the center of the room to get closer pics. I will have my grandson help me and take some close ups of the staple repair and the paintings IMG_20180529_221405 (1)_opt.jpg IMG_20180529_221421_opt.jpg IMG_20180529_221426_opt.jpg IMG_20180529_221412_opt.jpg , as soon as he gets home. As always, thank you for your honest opinions !!!

Wow! That's an impressive piece, regardless of age. My only thought without more info and pics is that the plinth doesn't seem to match the vase.

I wish these pictures enlarged like your vanity pictures.

I'm not sure I've seen this done on an antique piece, but I could be wrong.

Would like to see the staple repair, as that is an old style repair, and not done these days.

Can you get a close up of this, please. Dots or brush strokes?

I had to resize them, in order to get them to upload, they were too large. I guess that is why they won't enlarge ??? I have to wait until tomorrow to look at the porcelian for brush marks, if you can even believe I have never looked for them, before...

@clutteredcloset49 My grandson is a professional photographer, even though he never will take pics for me, but I will have him take close ups w/ his good camera and not a phone. I have to go into town tomorrow AM to meet the person whose house I'm buying...It sure is a lot smaller and has no storage, but it will work, I guess !!!

I'm just re-joining and catching up on posts...I have always thought the same thing, but thought it may be due to everyone is always telling me "you are so matchy, matchy" ? The only thing that matches is the turquoise trim ??? Each painting on each of the four sides is a different scene. I love the paintings on the urn, but not so much on the plinth...

I will get on these requests, as soon as my grandson gets home, to help me move the urn. I can't move it by myself, well....I could, but then we would all be making something in mosiac !!!

Wow, what a longgggg wait I have given you...My grandson came home, grabbed some things and went 5-6 hours north of here, to Chicago, for a store pop up...Therefore, waiting for help to move the urn and take pics. Just wanted to let you know I hadn't gone against my word and the close up pics will be uploaded, whenever, he gets home, which may be midnight ?

At this point I agree that the plinth and the vase do not go together. I like the plinth better than the vase. With just the above to go on I would guess the plinth is French. That looks like a pretty nice winter scene. It'll be interesting to see how the other three sides are decorated. I'm hoping it has the other three seasons.

I'm sure you think I had dropped off the face of the earth, but I too, am still waiting for grandson Drake, to return from his original trip to St. Louis, but then he went to Chicago and back to STL and *should* be home by 5-6 pm. He was due home 2 days ago, but ran into some good vintage clothing deals and he has basically driven in circle's, STL to Chicago and back to STL...to obtain these items. Whew...
