Hi everybody. I want to sell this old piece of furniture I have.
It is a brown wood chest of drawers. I would say 1930's - 1940's but I am not expert.....

    Can anybody add any information?
    Many thanks.

    well, it's a little beat up....may have had a mirror.....and is ' brown furniture '.
Depends on where u R & how you want to sell it......but I'm betting that the furniture folks here will put a $30 value on it...or suggest painting it a distressed light color...add new hardware.....& maybe ask $60..!

( 1 or 2 might even suggest kicking it to the curb....)

I'm in Manchester, UK and was thinking it was worth around 20 GBP. I was thinking about leaving it on the street for somebody.....

If it were mine I would take it to the tip, others donate them to charity or give them to folks who turn them into shabby chic.

Do you guys have the equivalent of a Craiglist Free board over there? It's a nice bit of wood some maker/crafter would like to mess with.

Yes we have Gumtree and FreeCycle,
I get tons of this stuff, can`t give it away, can`t afford to hold on to it long.

Similar here. If it's damaged, it's done for generally.

If you're in the UK, Freecycle or Freegle it.

Sadly, the pulls are probably worth more than the chest.

It's got at least one missing as I recall, but otherwise I agree. They'd be far easier to flog without all the brown wood. Then again with missing bits, it might be a case where you sell the handles and put new matching ones on. Then mess with it.

I hadn't thought about removing the handles. They appear to be tortoise shell coloured, but probably made of Bakelite plastic?

Look more like celluloid. Either way, these would sell well on ebay.

Yeppers. If they're celluloid, wait until cold weather to move them. Celluloid plus heat can spell "celluloid disease", when it starts cracking and falls apart.

Thanks to everyone for input on this. It has just been collected by some lucky freecyclers.
