    Hi folks.
Jewelry is not my strong suit , but I recently purchased some stuff that had a bunch of pendants and beads in it. From my research it seems that these are referred to as Shou beads. Meant for well being I think.
Anyway , they are quite nice and I just finished cleaning them up s I snapped a few pictures. Lots of subtle variety in color.
    Are they Jade?
    Thanks , Kevin

Obviously, if they're molded, they're glass. If they're carved... just think of all that labor.

Are they hollow? They look it to me, and that would suggest glass (I think).

They are carved and drilled. not quite hollow as they couldn't get into certain areas. But they were able to get a lot out of the centers. A lot of work for sure. Hopefully the picture shows decent enough to show one of the four ridges inside where the drill couldn't reach. Hard to get a good picture in there.

More likely to be hollow serpentine beads.

Would a jeweler know for sure??? If you have a friendly one handy, check them out!! The colors are subtly pretty!!!

Most jeweler's know little about jade,if they have a GIA certificate they know more.Without being tested it is just a guess,my guess is bowenite a serpentine also known/sold as "new jade".

Love the beads, Kevin. I'm with Holly, they look like hand-carved serpentine to me.
I don't see any Shou symbols. I see coins (prosperity), surrounded by what looks like bats (longevity, just like Shou) .

    Thank you.
I cropped one in a bit. It helps show the carving even better. I will remember to go less hand next time.

I had not noticed the actual symbols before just carving patterns that looked random. I see it now. Very cool. Prosperity and longevity , I will take some of that!!
    Thank you.
Thanks to everyone for the help/ideas/input.
