Greg's needs a trip to the auto body painter. It would look awesome in fire engine red.

Greg, if you could spruce up the wood on top, someone would love that! I think people can live with the metal being worn, rusty, etc. And from what I've read in the last two days, people are mixing and matching these old industrial chairs for bar stools, etc.

Mine will probably wind up as some side chair or office chair. Surprisingly it is somewhat comfortable, and the seat turns which is nice for people who like to fidget.

I thought I had posted this find..but guess I didn't (if wrong sorry for repeat)

Bought this painted tile a few months ago..just because I liked it! More than I usually pay at a thrift store..but.....what the heck!

Framed size 18x13..signed "Metta Wigger 1987" Someone cared enough to have it professionally framed at a local shop (sticker on back)

Cora Urquhart Brown-Potter signed letter. I understand she used this address when in London.

Went to an estate sale this morning, in a "town home" on a golf course. The neighbors were real pills, calling the HOA and yowling. The dealers couldn't put a sign outside (the HOA President showed up and got nasty about it) so you had to know the address. They gave out numbers at 8:30 and I was there at 8AM. Got number 1 for the first time in my life..only to find out someone else had A1 - she'd told some sob story and got in first.

I'd had my eye on some Navajo pearls, but she got to them first. OTOH I got the 14k, solid, cuff links that are going straight to melt. No real design value there. Heh. She blew past the mens' "costume" too quickly, and I know this crew and they miss hallmarks left and right. Two other pair of 14k earrings later.... They also seriously blew it on an Orrefors bowl, but thankfully someone else snagged it.

They did make me pay up for an Ayala Bar (Israeli costume jewelry) necklace, but the pin went for less. I just got another one by the same maker elsewhere, and the fan pin came this morning - silver with coral and pearls. There's also a costume necklace, unmarked artisan silver, a citrine and fluorite crystal pendant with compartment, and some other costume and sterling. DSCF9766.JPG bits.

You go, girl. I never heard of Navajo pearls....do you have a similar pic of what they would look like?

I went out treasure hunting yesterday, found another new thrift shop. Here is some costume. This piece seems to be hand-made, rhinestones and metal stitched on fabric backing, a whole $3.

I have wanted this pin for over a year (it was in an antique mall), and it finally went on sale for half-price, made in Austria.

I had a coupon for a free lunch near where I got the 14k diamond brooch/pendant last week, so I had lunch and ventured back to the place. There was more jewelry out, and more mistakes, all 14k.... sold as costume.
The 14k pearl brooch was $5 (very heavy)

    The 14k
baby bangle is engraved "Grandmom and Grandpop H. 2-14-59" I am guessing 1959? $20.

There were two 14k 18" chains. The one with no pendant was $10; the other has a 14k CZ pendant, $20 (I was hoping the CZ was a diamond, no such luck). The earrings are 14k akoyas, $3.25. Gold Lot T.jpg
